Quick note

I’m making this devlog to let you know that Terror Axe is now it its open beta. Any bugs should be ironed out over the next couple of days. Leaderboards might take a week or two to open up (the itch io auth api is acting up). Happy suffering!

About Terror Axe

Initially, I made Terror Axe because I wanted to make a game about a lumberjack being chased by folk tale horrors in a forest. Halfway through development the pieces started to fall into place: I was gonna capture the feeling of a certain dream I had. Stuck in a cycle of sleep and waking up in a cold sweat.

The gameplay is very much inspired by Devil Daggers, a game I hold very highly because of its demanding nature. It’s a game that is unapologetic about making you learn the ins and outs just to be able to play at the lowest level.
